Hello and welcome! Fivemile Hill is a subscription website offering courses on how to live in harmony with nature and create unforgettable experiences at home.

Our mission is to help restore biodiversity. We imagine a new way of life and build the home of the future. It is a healthy and resilient home centered on nature and shared by humans and other species.

We want to lead a meaningful life. We believe in nature, beauty, taste, and authenticity. We nurture our inner child and have fun!

We are a designer-engineer couple living in the Texas Hill Country. Tom is from Germany and Aurélie is French-Indonesian. We create and write everything on this website ourselves.

We have a house on a 0.2-acre lot in San Antonio that we renovated ourselves in a modern European style, with a contemplative nature garden and water feature that we share with suburban wildlife.

We are also stewards of a 21-acre land near Bandera where we are working to restore a native ecosystem and create a sanctuary for wild birds and pollinators, and where we plan to live and host retreats/workshops.
